Abstract

This paper is an introduction to the special issue on the notion of help in online learning environments. It emphasizes the essential role played by the notion of help in these environments but also the fact that relatively few researchers work on this topic. It further provides some reflections on the articles published in the special issue (e.g., on the key notions, on methodological questions, and on perspectives for further reflection).
