Abstract

BiomeTTico is a Web site intended to respond to various problems related to the acquisition of translation competence and knowledge in LSP (languages for specific purposes; here, biomedicine), as well as to enhance the value of research projects of post-graduate students. Designed from a cognitive perspective, this is a multi-tool helping the teaching of biomedical translation at different levels, from beginners to advanced students at the doctorate level. It takes into account a number of principles such as usability, interactivity and collaborative participation, as well as different types of users. Furthermore, it integrates a number of products resulting from the research activities over the past few years and is meant to evolve with time. Although the content of the site is specific to biomedicine, the structure may be used in other translation teaching contexts.
